"Aaron and crew were timely, efficient, professional, yet personable. We had a move that faced some obstacles (on our part) and they were very patient ensuring the job was done and our contents were where we wanted them in the new home. From location 1, they broke down all the parts/pieces of furniture and assured it was all protected and reassembled as it was prior to the move. (VT to MA) We had other home contents packed in totes/boxes, and they moved it all. So so thankful for the service and effort that was provided, making our move as seamless as possible. Highly recommend!"

About Our Rutland, VT Moving Company
Two brothers out of a family of seven siblings, a small crew, and a business model that lives or dies on whether the last customer tells the next one.
Our Story
Why This Company Is Called Two Brothers
It started the way most small trades businesses do — with people who had done the work for someone else and thought it could be done better.
Two Brothers Moving Service began with a straightforward idea: build a moving company that runs on family values rather than volume. The founders come from a family of seven siblings, and the habits that come with growing up in a house that size — dividing work, communicating constantly, showing up for each other — turn out to be exactly the habits a moving crew needs.
Read our reviews and one detail keeps surfacing: customers describe watching the crew coordinate with each other. That is not an accident and it is not training. It is what happens when the people carrying your dining table have been working alongside each other their entire lives.
The company has grown from a truck and a phone into a federally licensed household goods carrier running a 100-mile radius across four states. What has not changed is that a brother is on almost every crew, and the person who quotes your job is usually the person who shows up to do it.

What We Stand For
Four Things That Don't Change Between Jobs
Every one of these is here because a customer named it first, in a review we did not ask for.
The Conversation Comes First
When a job runs long or turns out smaller than expected, you hear about it while there is still time to decide. One of our reviews is a customer describing exactly that conversation going fairly. That is the standard, written down by someone who was not asked to.
Protection Is Not an Upsell
Blankets, shrink wrap, straps, and dollies come standard on every job — not as a line item you can decline into a scratched dresser. If it leaves the house, it leaves wrapped, whether it is an heirloom or a bookcase from a big-box store.
Credentials You Can Check
Vermont does not license intrastate movers, so anyone can claim anything. We hold active federal household goods authority — USDOT 4460396 and MC-1758933 — and we would genuinely rather you looked it up than took our word for it.
We Live Where We Work
Rutland is home, not a market. The crew shops at the same stores and drives the same roads, and a bad job here follows you around in a way it never would in a city. That is a more reliable incentive than any warranty language.
The Crew
The People Whose Names End Up in the Reviews
Aaron, Eric, Nate, Micah, Daniel, Jeremy — customers remember them because they are the same people every time.
One of the more telling things about our review page is how often crew members get named. People do not usually remember who moved them. They remember here because the crew is small and consistent, and because someone spent nine hours in their house being careful with their things.
That consistency is also the practical argument for hiring a small local company. There is no dispatch pool, no rotating day labor, and no chance that the crew who quoted your job hands it to strangers on the morning. The trade-off is that our calendar is genuinely finite — which is why the booking timeline matters more with us than with a national chain.
In Their Words
What People Say About Working With Us
"Updating because we did hire them again — this time for a full move rather than just unloading pods. It was not an easy move (staircases, weightlifting equipment, etc.) and they rocked it. Good crew who worked hard all day despite VT feeling like a damn sauna at the time. They earned the five stars!"
"Respectful and honest men who get the job done and are willing to go a step farther if you ask. They squeezed me in on short notice and reduced my total after realizing the job was smaller than they anticipated. It's nice to know there's still people in the business with a moral compass."
